The internet is responding to the passing of Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday at the age of 96 with heartfelt tributes and sincere expressions of appreciation, as well as a deluge of memes and odd statements from corporate accounts.

RIP Queen Elizabeth II
As noted by Insider, numerous brand accounts posted responses that didn't seem to fit with the historic event because the somber messages are typically accompanied by cartoon character images.
The Crazy Frog account tweeted a RIP message along with a lit candle emoji, while Queen Elizabeth II was described as "an inspiration to all generations, young and old" by the official Peppa Pig Twitter account.

Meanwhile, the Shrek's Adventure Twitter account for the London attraction said in a tweet that they are one with "millions of mourners around the UK and the world in paying tribute to HM Queen Elizabeth II."
The musical Hamilton's Twitter account posted a message of sadness and commemoration, which many on social media noted was ironic considering that the performance centers on rebelling against the monarchy's reign.

When I started collecting stamps half a century ago, the stamps adorning the 'Portrait of the Queen' taught me about the beauty and dignity of the Queen as a person, as well as the various historical backgrounds and world politics. May she rest in peace. pic.twitter.com/1hUxr9GF5e
