Zoom will soon be available in Tesla vehicles, so you no longer have to worry if, for instance, you are stuck in traffic and running late for a meeting.

This upcoming feature, made in collaboration with the two tech companies, was one of the announcements during Zoomtopia 2022. It was held on Tuesday, Nov. 8.

The Demo

According to Mashable's recent article, Zoom's Group Product Manager Nitasha Walia has confirmed that the app will indeed be coming to all new Tesla models shortly.

In a brief demo, the feature was showcased in action in a Tesla Model Y. It demonstrated the first use of the car's cabin camera, which is located above the rear-view mirror.

During the call, the vehicle was parked and charging. According to the report, the Zoom call app may be initiated from the integrated calendar function into the vehicle. The report was not able to confirm it yet.

Unconfirmed Details

Regarding Zoom conversations made via Tesla, there are still a number of questions to be answered.

In light of Zoom's past statements on the importance of safety, it is very unlikely that the feature would be accessible when the user is driving. It needs to be clarified, though, what kind of network connection it will employ.

To be specific, two possible methods exist to set up a connection for the Zoom call. Drivers may either use Wi-Fi or subscribe to Tesla's Premium Connectivity, which offers a faster internet connection for a monthly fee.

Earlier Hints

According to Mashable, this project has been in the works for a very long time.

In April 2020, several Tesla drivers reportedly approached CEO Elon Musk about whether the car's inside camera might be used for a Zoom conference. While Tesla stayed silent on the matter, Zoom was not wholly opposed to the concept.

A month later, though, Musk affirmed that video conferencing was absolutely a future function that would be included in Tesla vehicles.

Aside from the integration with tesla cars, Zoom also unveiled more new features it will be releasing.

The report said Zoom is shifting its focus to the return to the workplace in this post-pandemic era. While doing so, it will continue to emphasize the app's new features that will accommodate the requirements of modern lifestyles and businesses.

Because of the increasing demand for video conferencing software brought on by the shift to more irregular work hours, the firm is also focusing on the hybrid work structure that most businesses have learned to adopt.

In addition to the standard app, the firm now offers a subscription service called Zoom One, which is designed for users with a high volume of corporate communication needs. It provides many capabilities, such as meetings and in-video chats, as well as the ability to arrange webinars and get the "Whiteboard" tool simply.
