Google Pixel 6 Pro Smartphones Could Include Face Unlock Feature

The team at 9to5Google noted that they have done some digging and were able to find that the latest Pixel phone's Android update could include code that was referring to a CPU boost that is needed when Face Unlock is required. The code was also found to be exclusive to Pixel 6 Pro smartphones.

According to the story by Tech Radar, the feature is not yet live and Google hasn't released anything regarding the feature. It does, however, appear that the software developer behind the Android 12 is already laying out the foundations for the Face Unlock feature to show up on the Pixel 6 Pro sometime in the future.

Google Pixel 6 Pro Could be Correcting Issues to Make Way for the New Feature

There have been a lot of times when rumors started to spread regarding the Google Pixel 6 Phones having the Face Unlock feature. As per Tech Radar, the rumors started to spread before the launch of the handsets and continued to spread even after the release of the Pixel 6 devices.

Another Theory Says Pixel 7 Series Android 13 Could Add the Face Unlock Feature

It was noted that the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro could also come with hardware upgrades that help provide a more seamless unlock experience. Google has decided that the Pixel 5 will not be including the Face Unlock feature and as per the company, it was a trade-off in order to clear up "room other premium features for the device."

In the past, the feature actually made an appearance on both the Google Pixel 4 and Google Pixel 4XL. For those that have not yet used the Face Unlock feature in order to open their phones, it could be hard to appreciate the convenience and speed of the feature especially since it is capable of working from numerous angles.

The feature allows users to go straight past the lock screen and directly into the app that users were using right away. According to another article by NoteBook Check, however, the Face Unlock feature might also launch on the Pixel 7 Series with the upcoming Android 13.

It remains to be seen if the feature will indeed launch with the Google Pixel 6 Pro instead of the later Pixel 7 Series.
