Let's say you're an avid video gamer who lives in Japan and have a little money to throw around. Of course, you're going to want to invest in the finest collectibles that money can buy, right?
Well, you're in luck: Sony just announced a special edition Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Walkman that retails for around 140,000 yen, which is about $1,140 in U.S. dollars. The 128 GB Walkman ZX2 includes the game's name on the front and comes with a leather case stamped with the logo of the Outer Heaven mercenaries. It also comes pre-loaded with songs from Metal Gear soundtracks, sounds from the game and four high-definition wallpapers.
If that's a little steep for your budget, though, Sony also plans on offering a lower-end version of the Metal Gear Solid V Walkman, with just a measly 32 GB of storage space. It also only has a few songs from the Metal Gear soundtrack, but you can't expect much more for around 28,000 Yen (around $230).
Of course, Sony isn't just stopping with its revamped Walkman range. You can also nab either a Metal Gear Solid V Xperia smartphone or tablet. The phone includes a logo on the back, a Metal Gear ringtone and two songs from the Metal Gear soundtrack. The tablet includes all of this as well, plus, it comes with the option of choosing between two original case designs.
The smartphone retails for around 59,600 Yen (about $450), with the tablet costing 84,000 Yen (about $680).
Of course, there's a catch: these products are only available in Japan, although it's likely some of them will turn up on eBay for interested buyers elsewhere: however, expect to pay more than the retail price on that site.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain releases on September 1.
