Remember the video game studio that goes by the name, Press Play? This studio is Microsoft owned and once allowed fans to vote on the next game to create. Well, the votes are in, and Project: Knoxville is what fans want to play.

The studio's previous game was Max: The Curse of Brotherhood, and it was a pretty decent platformer that got excellent reviews from most critics. However, this new video game, Project: Knoxville, is something entirely different.

It's a multiplayer surviving action game that is similar to The Hunger Games in some respects. It is set among the events of a gruesome game show in the future. The idea is, players will be placed in an area where they must scavenge for weapons and kill enemies along with other living creatures of the night.

Players will also have the option to betray members of their party, though for now, we're not sure how that will play out, but it should be intriguing. We do know from the prototype play through; players can choose which team member they do not trust before traversing through the great outdoors.

We also know that players can use a variety of weapons to get started on their journey.

Since the title is currently in the prototype stages and the Press Play team only recently chose to commit fully to the game, Project: Knoxville will likely see the light of day in 2016.

It is going to take a long time for the developers to implement ideas and make them work. If everything goes according to plan, the Project: Knoxville could turn out to be something special for the Xbox One and most likely the PC next year.

What about the games that lost out in the voting process?

Those games were Dwarka and Karoo, two ambitious looking titles. Press Play did not state if fans should keep an eye on those games because the whole team is moving their attention to Project: Knoxville. As it stands right now, both Dwarka and Karoo are dead in the water.
