The Cleveland Cavaliers sticking a rabid Matthew Dellavedova on MVP Stephen Curry during Game 2 of the Finals and the Golden State Warriors successfully turning to small ball were just two of the many adjustments seen in this year's NBA playoffs.

Adjustments and situational hoop sequences like that will be of the norm in the highly-anticipated NBA 2K16, scheduled to hit stores September 29. On Wednesday (September 2), 2K released "The Living World" trailer with NBA 2K gameplay developers explaining smart enhancements ranging from situational fan reaction and coaches' and players' intelligence to players being able to detect opportunities on the floor and an upgrade of the game's collision system.

From day one of the project, Mike Wang of the NBA 2K gameplay development team presented his squad with what he called the "impossible task" of making the game "look and feel way better than it ever has in the past."

It seems like the mission was accomplished, as the trailer shows Curry using an off-ball screen to get open for a three-point attempt, but when the defense closes in, the dynamic point guard adjusts and drives to the hoop instead.

Each of the 30 NBA coaches are also equipped with their own mindset, ready to make adjustments from game to game, especially while in the playoffs.

"In the regular season, [San Antonio Spurs coach] Gregg Popovich may give you his base general pick and roll defense, but let's say you have success in Game 1 of the playoffs versus them, Game 2 is going to be entirely different," explains Scott O'Gallagher of the NBA 2K gameplay development team.

When adjustments are made on the hardwood, it will be up to gamers to step up to the challenge in figuring out ways to solve problems.

The trailer also shows how the collision system is made to replicate actual NBA play, so if LeBron James, at 6 foot 8 and 250 pounds, bumps into a guard or small forward likely of smaller stature, chances are that player is going to feel every bit of force from King James and falter.

"NBA 2K16 is going to be the most authentic sports gaming experience that you have ever played," O'Gallagher said.
