Christian mothers are not too keen on having Fox's Lucifer on screen, so they have started a petition and amassed over 10,000 signings in the hopes of getting the show cancelled. We're not certain how powerful this petition is, but it could be a sign of failure or success.

The show, which is based on the DC/Vertigo comic book of the same name, is centered on Lucifer, the king of hell, who one day became so bored with his job that he chose to abandon hell for Los Angeles. He gets his kicks from helping the LAPD capture criminals, and in the meantime trying to stay one step ahead of heaven.

The group behind the petition is called One Million Moms, which is quite surprising since the petition from the time of writing, was only signed a little over 10,000 times.

"The series will focus on Lucifer portrayed as a good guy, 'who is bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell.'He resigns his throne, abandons his kingdom and retires to Los Angeles, where he gets his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals," says One Million Moms. "At the same time, God's emissary, the angel Amenadiel, has been sent to Los Angeles to convince Lucifer to return to the underworld."

The organization does not like the fact that the TV show is humanizing Lucifer, and could make it appear as if the Devil himself is a caring person who feels emotion for human life.

As a Christian group, they have the right to feel somewhat displeased with what is happening. However, the choice is there for them to refrain from watching the show instead of attempting to spoil everyone else's entertainment.

At the end of the day, though, Lucifer has received a fair amount of negative feedback, so this petition may be unwarranted since the show might fail to get pass its first season. The Internet is up in arms about how terrible it looks, so who knows what could happen.
