Did you know that National Lover's Day exists — and it's today?
Online dating site Zoosk and global cosmetics brand Revlon partnered together to discover what 2,500 men and women really think about the opposite sex when it comes to love and dating. The results just may surprise you.
Just in time to celebrate the day we learned some interesting statistics in our e-mail interview with the Revlon publicity team.
Blondes Don't (Necessarily) Have More Fun
While 64 percent of women think that men are most attracted to blondes (compared with brunettes and redheads), it's not the case in these results. Brunettes are most approachable when it comes to dating, according to 61 percent of the men in this survey.
Choose The Right Filter
A profile picture is the ultimate first impression when looking for love online. Here, 86 percent of men are more likely to click on photos with a "girl-next-door" look. Seventy-eight percent of women agree that a photo with light, natural makeup gets better results than looking overdone.
Lip Service
Ladies, listen up: A bold lipstick, specifically red, is the way to grab a man's attention. Wearing red lipstick on a date equals being ultra-confident, according to 41 percent of men; 44 percent think red lipstick is sexy. A statement lipstick is the go-to date night look for 47 percent of women. It must be working, as 57 percent of men say if a woman is wearing a bright shade of lipstick, they'll go in for a kiss because they'll be staring at them all night long.
Prep Steps
Putting in extra effort predate gets noticed by both men and women. Men (60 percent polled) prefer a woman highlight her best features using makeup while 40 percent of women say putting on makeup before a date gets them excited and ready for love. When a woman puts time into her date look, 65 percent of men can tell and appreciate it.
