A new report is now seeing Verizon shine among its developments to improve the 5G speeds that it offers customers, saying that it is catching up to the current leader among the Big Three carriers. However, Verizon is not the only one improving, as the latest numbers from AT&T's service are also raking in higher outputs for its service, only showing the commitment towards elevating the 5G experience.

Nevertheless, T-Mobile still leads the trio in the present, and as per the latest market research, its competitors are already catching up.

The latest market analysis from Ookla for Q4 2023 shows the iconic upgrades and improvements done by the top three service providers in the United States. One of the honorable mentions here is Verizon, with the second on the list company clocking in faster overall 5G performance compared to its stats earlier this year.

For the 5G performance metrics, Verizon was able to reach the sub-200 Mbps mark, with 196.43 Mbps from its 133.50 Mbps download speed from the first half of the year. According to Digital Trends, Verizon saw a 27.73 percent jump from its third-quarter numbers to what it ended the year on now.

On the other hand, AT&T is not falling behind the top two companies with their services, as the third-seeded company clocked in a total of 125.73 5G Median Download Speed from its 86.01 Mbps during the first half as well.

Will T-Mobile Lose its Leads to Competitors?

T-Mobile is still the leader of the 5G band, and its numbers only show why it is at the top, with the research seeing its 5G Median Download Speed at 238.87 Mbps. That being said, the significant rally by both AT&T and Verizon shows that they are catching up, and it would only be a matter of time before they are in for a three-way faceoff for its 5G services.

5G Speeds and Top Carriers in the US

Last year, T-Mobile held a commanding lead in the 5G services and speeds present in the country, and this only goes to show how much the company has grown its offers for the public with the current-gen cellular connection. In an early 2023 report, T-Mobile held dominance in the cellular network industry, and the company proved to uphold this for the entirety of the year.

However, that does not mean that its competitors are lenient and accepting of the situation they are in, as there were significant changes made to also improve their services. Verizon is best known for its massive 5G expansion to rural areas to provide improved access to its customers, with the C-Band access made available to 40 million users.

The results are in for the start of the year, and for the entirety of 2023, T-Mobile still saw itself atop its competitors in this tight cellular and wireless service operations in the US. However, Verizon took it up a notch and ensured that it would not get left behind, showing humongous upgrades to its service, and the same goes for AT&T's improvements now.
