Blade: Marvel Comics' Iconic Vampire Hunter

The original Blade centers on Eric Brooks, a character of color introduced by Marvel Comics in 1973, and since then, the world has seen his iconic series, now celebrated by the company for his 50 years in the media. One of the more popular adaptations of Blade was with the movie series developed by Marvel Studios and New Line Cinema, starring Wesley Snipes as the titular hero.

After getting a trilogy from Marvel, with the third release, Blade: Trinity, widely considered as a flop, the significant success of the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) sparked rumors about possible reboots. Of course, this would still include the iconic portrayal of Snipes as Blade, but there were speculations that it would focus on the next generation, including his daughter to take on the mantle.

With a unique story and direction over at Marvel, Blade has been a significant presence in the multimedia adaptations of the character, but so far, the game trilogy based on the film series has not gained widespread popularity. Now, the character is returning with a dedicated, stand-alone game, with Arkane heading its development of Marvel's Blade, with its release date yet unknown.
