The upcoming PlayStation 5 sequel Marvel's "Spider-Man 2" will reportedly feature a New York City map twice the size of the first game. Starring both Peter Parker and Miles Morales, who will protect the city, this latest game adds a new location that widens the map for the web-swinging heroes.

The developer Insomniac Games and Sony released PS4 exclusive "Spider-Man" in 2018, and now, they promise to bring gamers a better experience and entertainment with the upcoming sequel.

Marvel's 'Spider-Man 2': Bigger Map With this Famed NYC Location

According to ResetEra, a new location will be featured on Marvel's "Spider-Man 2," but still focusing on the iconic setting of New York City.

As per PlayStation's official description of the game, Coney Island will be the latest addition to the game's location, enlarging the map players will soon explore.

While the two initial releases from Insomniac and Sony PlayStation already featured New York to gamers, the iconic entertainment island filled with a Ferris wheel, a roller coaster, and more is coming to the new game.

Apart from Coney Island and Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and other boroughs will also be featured in the sequel, expanding the renowned Big Apple's map as a whole.

When Is Marvel's 'Spider-Man 2' Going to Be Released?

There are still no images of the Coney Island addition to Marvel's "Spider-Man 2" that has been released, so gamers would still have to wait for its launch to see the festive location live in the game.

Marvel's "Spider-Man 2" is scheduled to be released globally for PS5 on October 20, 2023.

Insomniac's Marvel's 'Spider-Man'

Marvel's "Spider-Man" achieved an incredible feat. It became PlayStation's famous Game of the Year awardee in 2018, bringing significant popularity to single-player titles that center mostly on the plot and progression.

It was also remastered by Insomniac Games for its arrival on the PC platform and met with significant praise and critical acclaim. While Marvel's "Spider-Man: Miles Morales" is the second game developed by Insomniac and PlayStation, which revolves around the Spidey universe, this was not a sequel to Peter Parker's story in 2018.

Little did the public know that these two different story games would fuse in the franchise's upcoming sequel, bringing both heroes in Marvel's "Spider-Man 2."

Sony's recent PlayStation Showcase revealed a lot of information about the game. The first official trailer of the game also debuted at the event.

In the trailer, Peter and Miles Morales can be seen fighting goons, suggesting that players may get to play as both Spider-Men this time. The infamous Spider-Man villain Venom also appeared at the end, which means he could be one of the sequel's main villains.

Those who watched it also heard a menacing voice talking over the trailer, which seems to suggest that Peter and Miles will have another villain to face off against, and this was later confirmed to be Craven the Hunter.
