Twitch is centering on a new policy for underaged users, particularly for those in their adolescent ages, centering on a new phone verification system that would block users under 13 from registering an account. Moreover, those allowed in the platform would also see the phone verification system, as well as get a layer of protection from its Spirit AI.
The company would track dangerous and harmful messages online, particularly those who are preying on innocent children's accounts and conversations.

According to the recent blog post by Twitch, it centers on a new safety policy that will protect children ages 13 and above online, centering on a new phone verification requirement to verify their age. Moreover, it aims to remove "online grooming" on its platform, where adults prey on children using the platform to engage them into sending sensitive forms of media or getting what they want.
One of the main focuses here is the phone number age verification system of the company, one that would verify their identity, especially if the initial information they entered was false.
It would identify a person's age before they can go on Twitch's live streams and show off themselves online, hereby helping stop online predators from targetting them.
Additionally, Twitch's Spirit AI will help search for harmful messages sent between children and online predators, suspected of illicit behavior.

Children Under 13 Cannot Register on Twitch
Twitch's new guidelines were recently updated to protect the children using their platform, especially as they are prone to get manipulated into doing another's will. The negative thing here is that children below 13 will no longer have access to Twitch's account creation, preventing their access to the platform for whatever they need and require. However, Twitch has a policy regarding these adolescents who cannot register an account, with older underaged children seeing more protection for their online usage.
