Google Pixel's battery widget has a new update. It now shows an estimated time before its juice drains. The new feature essentially gives users an idea of how long it would last before it needs to plug to a charger.

But how do you get your hands on this new update?

Google Pixel Battery Widget

As per the latest report by Android Central, Pixel phone users got their hands on the Android battery widget during the March 2022 feature drop.

The new widget debuted to give Pixel users an option to check out the battery percentage of their devices.

It does not only include the battery status on your Pixel phone. Instead, it also provides information for other connected devices and accessories via Bluetooth. For instance, if you have your Pixel Buds paired to your phone, it shows its juice percentage and its charging case. What's more, it also shows the status of each earbud for Pixel Buds.

The battery widget is pretty handy as it lets users take a look at the status of their various devices at a single glance.

According to a news story by 9to5 Google, the search engine giant has gradually improved the widget since it first saw the light of day early this year.

The June update for Pixel phones includes a new feature that allows users to resize it to be smaller to avoid taking up too much space on their home screen.

New Update Adds Estimated Time

But despite that, it could not tell how much time is left before the battery dies out until the latest update on the widget.

The latest update on the battery widget of Pixel phones now offers much more information regarding its battery status. 9to5 Google reports that the latest addition gives users an estimated time for how long it could still potentially last.

However, the news outlet notes that the time remaining feature exclusively works on the Pixel phone alone. And as such, it does not provide the same information for other connected devices like wireless earbuds.

So while the others only show the percentage, the widget shows an estimated time for the smartphone.

It is worth noting that Android users could also check out the estimated time remaining for the battery beneath the Settings app. So it looks like Google only made it easier to see this time.

How to Get it ASAP?

Unfortunately, the update has yet to roll out to all Pixel users.

9to5 notes that it is likely to release along with the upcoming Pixel Feature Drop. However, if you want to get it right away, you will have to join the QPR1 beta program.
