How to Switch Back to Old Gmail Design
Since the Gmail redesign is quite a test that Google put into trial, it is expected that it won't be smooth at first. As the service provider, the company should be listening to the suggestions of the users for the overall improvement of the app.
Actually, there's a series of steps that can help you reunite with the old look of the app. Here's how to achieve this nostalgic Gmail design in case you want to experience it once again.
- From the top right corner of Gmail, tap the Setting gears icon.
- Once you see the panel located below "You're using the new Gmail view," tap "Go back to the original view."
- When you're finished clicking it, you will notice that there's a box that will pop out. It will ask you why you are switching back to the old Gmail layout. Write a short answer on the space provided.
- After writing the reason behind your decision, click the "Reload" button to restart your browser. By this time, you will see that Gmail has reverted to its original design.
How Long Can We See the Previous Gmail Layout View?
As of the moment, Google has not yet announced the final date for the complete removal of the old design. Once the search engine giant finishes all of the necessary updates for the "Material You" look, this could be the time to say goodbye to the classic layout.
