Nintendo Switch Online's N64 app gets its latest update, version 2.4.0, which notably marks the arrival of the classically original Pokémon Snap to the library of games of the "+ Expansion" pack.
But the latest Nintendo 64 update is not entirely about the arrival of the first Pokémon title in the service, which brings other iconic Nintendo games from massive franchises like Mario and "The Legend of Zelda."
Nintendo Switch Online N64 Update
The latest version 2.4.0 Switch Online N64 update also brings a few changes to its existing offerings like "Kirby 64," among other tweaks.
As per a news story by Nintendo Life, the Japanese gaming giant skips releasing patch notes for updates such as this. It should have been handy to learn about the new stuff that the latest version brings. But it is what it is.
Despite that, it did not stop the Nintendo data miner, who goes by the name OutmealDome, from going the extra mile to learn more about the latest Switch Online N64 update.
Nintendo Life notes that the update finally brings the classical "Pokémon Snap" game to the service.
On top of its much-awaited arrival to the service, the new version also brings a couple of fixes for some classical Nintendo games, including "F-Zero X" and Mario Golf."
If we are being precise, the latest update introduces a CPU hack to games like "Kirby 64: The Crystal Shard" and "Star Fox 64."
"Kirby 64" debuted in the new millennium or in 2000 for the N64. But thanks to Online Switch, gamers of the next-generation hybrid console could now also play the game. Meanwhile, Nintendo released "Star Fox 64" way back in 1997.
Not to mention that the new update also tweaked the AOT executable and PCB file for "F-Zero X" and "Mario Golf."
Original 'Pokemon Snap' on Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion pack
According to a recent report by Dot Esports, the highly anticipated arrival of the original version of "Pokemon Snap" finally lands on the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion pack, allowing Switch console gamers to enjoy the classical title.
It is to note that Nintendo released its sequel back in 2021, aptly titled the "New Pokémon Snap." It still followed the mechanics of the original N64 version. But, it naturally comes with tons of visual changes.
