Tesla Full Self-Driving beta reportedly no longer asks for any safety scores when electric vehicle (EV) owners are requesting to enter the program, at least that's what some users are now claiming.

The autonomous driving technology of Tesla, the Full Self-Driving (FSD) Beta, started rolling out to Tesla owners with almost perfect safety scores in late 2021.

As such, owners of Tesla EVs, such as the Tesla Model Y, Model S, and Model 3, among other offerings, were required to get extremely high safety scores to experience its self-driving feature.

Tesla Full Self-Driving Beta and Safety Scores

According to a recent report by Futurism, the initial safety score requirement for Tesla EV owners requesting the FSD Beta starts from 98 up to a perfect 100 rating.

It is worth noting that safety scores are based on the driving behavior of Tesla owners. So, an almost perfect rating somewhat translates that the person behind the wheel is responsible enough to get the early version of its self-driving tech.

Tesla FSD Beta Lowers Safety Score Requirement

As per a news story by Teslarati, the FSD Beta program of the massive EV maker, owned by no less than Elon Musk, recently lowered its safety score requirement.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk uses his mobile device as he sits in the car arriving to the construction site for the new plant, the so-called "Giga Factory", of US electric carmaker Tesla in Gruenheide near Berlin, northeastern Germany.

The CEO and founder of Tesla, Musk, previously hinted that its self-driving tech is likely to welcome more drivers with a lower safety rating. That is if the FSD update 10.12 goes without any hiccups along the way.

It now appears that the rollout was a success. Teslarati reports that the Beta Program started welcoming folks with at least 95 and higher safety scores.

The lowering of scores requirement opens up the whole FSD program to thousands of new Tesla owners.

Tesla FSD Beta Ditches Safety Scores?

However, some users claimed that the safety score requirement seems to have gone down to at least a 93 rating, instead of what was initially announced - a 95 score.

Apart from that, other drivers of Tesla EVs are now claiming otherwise. In fact, Futurism reports that the FSD Beta of Tesla now welcomes anyone to the program.

Did the automaker ditched the safety scores altogether?

The Tesla boss has yet to confirm if the EV maker outright removed the need for any safety scores.

Meanwhile, the prominent blogger, Whole Mars Catalog, claims on Twitter that some users are getting the FSD Beta without asking for their safety scores.

Whole Mars Catalog wrote that the user requesting the FSD Beta downloaded it instantly with "no safety score, nothing."

Another Tesla owner even sent some screenshots to prove the whole thing. But it could be some kind of glitch, Futurism offers.
