According to CNET, cleaning your laptop's lid and bottom panel involves the use of warm water, lint-free cloth, and a mild dish detergent. What you have to do is to first mix a couple of drops of the detergent with a few cups of the warm water. Dip the cloth into the mixture and wring out the excess.

Use the cloth to wipe the surfaces of your laptop. Rinse your cloth with clean water and then use it to wipe down the surfaces once more. You can also opt to wipe your laptop a third time using a dry cloth to avoid water streaks.

To clean your laptop's keyboard, you will need a can of compressed air. According to an article by PCMag, it is recommended that you start from the bottom and work your way up. It is also important to "approach the keyboard from different angles, such as from the side, to get everything."

PCMag's article also notes that the can of compressed air is pretty much your best friend when cleaning your laptop as you can use it to clean your laptop's vents and ports.

Once you are done getting rid of the dust and other dirt using the compressed air, take another lint-free cloth and dab some isopropyl rubbing alcohol on it. Use it to gently clean your laptop's keys. Keep in mind that you should not let any liquid spill beneath the keys of your laptop.

How to clean your laptop's screen is actually pretty straightforward. PCMag recommends taking a clean microfiber cloth and dampening it with water. It is recommended that you "start from the edges and work your way inward, to avoid lodging cleaner or gunk bits under the bezel as you wipe."

Do not forget to support the lid with your free hand as you wipe so as to avoid twisting the lid of your laptop or flipping the whole thing backward.
