Microsoft and Mojang have released a new augmented reality game for mobile devices, Minecraft Earth, where players and fans of the franchise can create structures and explore a Minecraft world wherever you are.

The game had been released in certain parts of the world for a while, but it is now available in both the United States and the United Kingdom, according to Forbes.

Minecraft Earth is now available on both iOS and Android devices in countries around the world.

Minecraft Earth as Top Paid Game

Minecraft Earth is available on iOS and Android devices, and while some think this new AR game won't get the attention the original Minecraft games did, the augmented reality version has exceeded expectations as it topped the US Apple App Store where it currently stands as the top paid game.

The announcement was made by Aubrey Norris on Twitter, according to a report by the Windows Central.

Meanwhile, if you're playing Minecraft Earth on Android, make sure your device has Android 8.0 and up, or the game will not be available even if it appears on your Google Play Store.

How to Get Iron

Although the game has been out for a few days now, it's still early access, and fans are expecting more expansions to come out in due time, and that some things can still change in the future.

For now, fans can start spending their time collecting resources and building things in a very Minecraft style.

With that, Attack of the Fanboy shared some tips on how to get Iron on Minecraft Earth, which is somewhat different from the usual digging anywhere and everywhere.

In Minecraft Earth, Iron is still one of the essential resources, but it's rather rare, and you need to go on an adventure to acquire one, which should appear on your screen as the bright red light coming from a tappable.

Simply go to it, tap it, and go on an adventure where you fight enemies, so be sure you have any weapons to fend them off. Then you can collect the resources after which will include Iron.

Pop-up Mobs

If you live anywhere near Hudson Yard in New York, Campbell's Cove in Sydney, or Queens Walk in London, pop up mobs will appear in these places from 10 A.M. to 7 P.M. this Saturday.

These new mobs feature life-sized statues that have a QR code that will let you access new adventures before they will be available to everyone in December and are only available in Minecraft Earth, as per TouchArcade.

So far, Pokemon Go is dominating the mobile AR genre, so it is still pretty early to tell if Minecraft Earth will have the same success.
