Microsoft Lumia 730 Took the Largest Selfie in History: Over 1,000 People Took Part

Microsoft took the biggest selfie recently using a Windows Phone device. An unknown number of Microsoft employees along with people from Bangladesh managed to take what is considered the largest selfie in the world snapped with the Lumia 730.

The number of participants reached over 1,000. That's quite a lot, and no doubt Microsoft is going to use this in several advertisements to sell the Lumia 730 to the world.

Microsoft is now awaiting confirmation from The Guinness Book of World Records to see if it will grant this prestigious title. We view this as a smart way of promoting the selfie and also the functionality of the Lumia 730.

"Unfortunately, the picture perfect crowd can't lay official claim to taking part in selfie history just yet as we're still waiting for confirmation from The Guinness Book of World Records. But we're very confident that soon this photo will be crowned the biggest ever," Microsoft said.

How many likes has the selfie garnered?

On Microsoft's Bangladesh Facebook page, over 40,000 people have liked the image as of this writing. It shows that Microsoft is doing something right with this marketing ploy, and it might just help the company sell enough Lumia 730 devices to warrant another in the family by next year.

The Lumia 730 packs a decent 5 MP camera at the front for selfies and video calls via Skype and other apps. The back camera is a 6.7 MP beauty that is capable of taking full 1080p high-definition videos. In fact, even the front-facing camera can capture videos in 1080p, something not every smartphone front-facing camera is capable of. When it comes down to the display, it is of the 4.7-inch variety with a 1280x720 resolution.

Inside, the Lumia 730 has 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. The processor is a Snapdragon 400 quad-core with a clock rate of 1200 MHz.

The Lumia 730 may not be the most powerful Windows Phone, but it is one of the best selfie phones around.
