Samsung Unveils A Solid Mid-Ranger In the Galaxy C5 Pro: Specs, Features, Price

Amid the noise of Samsung Galaxy S8 flagship hype, a new product has quietly appeared.

After the release two months ago of the Samsung Galaxy C7 Pro, Samsung has quietly unveiled its smaller cousin, the mid-ranger Galaxy C5 Pro. This is a 5.2-incher FHD dual-SIM phone that runs on a Snapdragon processor.

The Galaxy C5 Pro is already available for preorder in China for about $360 on March 16. It is pegged for a U.S. release later this month.

Galaxy C5 Pro Body And Display

The Samsung Galaxy C5 Pro, like its cousin C7 Pro, rocks a metal 145.7 x 71.4 x 7 mm, 145-gram (5.11 oz) unibody with the antenna bands on top and bottom back. The iconic Home button is centrally located and also serves as a fingerprint scanner. The main camera is placed slightly protruding at the top center with the LED flash, while the selfie cam is placed at the top left part of face side.

The speaker grille rests firmly at the bottom together with the 3.5mm headphone jack and USB Type-C port. The volume rockers are on the top left side while the power button is placed opposite on the right. The phone is available in three color variants: Lake Blue, Powder Rose and Maple Leaf. The branding is placed in both front and rear sides.

The 5.2-inch Super AMOLED display looks sleek with a thin bezel. The screen resolution boasts a Full HD 1920 x 1080 pixels.

Galaxy C5 Pro Camera And Internals

Samsung doesn't scrimp when it comes to its phone's optics. The Galaxy C5 Pro is mobile photography-ready with a 16 mp camera. Expect pretty portraits from its f/1.9 aperture with LED flash support. Selfie fanatics will get also get a 16-megapixel front camera. Video lovers can record Full HD vids with its 1080p-30 fps video capability.

Now for the electronic innards. The Galaxy C5 Pro is a hybrid dual-SIM phone with the usual Bluetooth v4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, 4G LTE, GPS, NFC, Radio, and WLAN connectivity. The phone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow powered by its 2.2 GHz processor, a Snapdragon 626 octa-core Cortex-A53 chipset. It packs 4 GB or RAM and has a built-in 64 GB internal storage, with an option to expand up to 256 GB via its microSD slot.

As for juice, the phone has a 2,600 mAh battery with 296 hours of standby time. Other peripherals include sensors like acceleration sensor, fingerprint reader (beneath the Home Button), gyroscope, magnetometer, proximity sensor, and RGB light sensor.
