Xbox Live Now Supports Capture Cards For Twitch Broadcasters On Xbox One

Xbox Live announced that it is now supporting capture cards for Xbox One broadcasters on Twitch.

Before, only Xbox One players broadcasting their game through the Xbox Twitch app were able to harness the various ways that they can amplify their presence on Xbox Live, sharing updates and growing their audience in the process.

Now, all Twitch users who have linked their Twitch and Xbox Live accounts and are broadcasting Xbox games via capture cards will automatically see their content on the Xbox and Xbox One Android, iOS and Windows apps' Activity Feed, pushed to their followers and on the game's product details page in the Xbox Store.

To make sure their broadcasts are promoted across the Xbox Live platform, Twitch users just have to link their Twitch and Xbox Live accounts using the Twitch app. After that, any capture card and broadcasting software on PC can be used to showcase content on Twitch.

Players are also advised to correctly identify their game for best results.

The capture card support feature rolled out July 12.

Across the pond, the Twitch app has landed on the PlayStation Vita, giving all Twitch users the freedom to watch their favorite broadcasts wherever they are in the world via the handheld.

Once internet connection to a PS Vita is established, Twitch users can start streaming content, both live and recorded, by accessing the app on the Vita's interface. The Twitch app also comes with a "featured section" to make it easier for users to follow their favorite streamers.

Native Twitch functions not included in the PS Vita app are: private messages, chatting and self-produced live streams.

The Twitch PS Vita app may be downloaded via the PlayStation Store. It only requires 12.4 MB of space and is free of charge. So far, users are liking what they see, giving the app a high rating.

Twitch first expanded onto the Xbox platform before tapping into Sony's PlayStation territory, starting with the PlayStation 4. Before reaching the PS Vita, the app had already spread across gaming gadgets, including Android and iOS devices.

Today, Twitch continues to amass users, both followers and live streamers, of varying interests. To expand its reach further, the streaming platform created a dedicated food channel. Competitors are looking to take a slice of the pie Twitch is enjoying, however, launching their own streaming services, like YouTube Gaming, for a cut.

In June, Twitch launched a Cheering feature to let fans support their favorite streamers on the platform.
