Subscribers of U.S. network operator T-Mobile have two new Samsung mobile devices they can look forward to this month.
T-Mobile is poised to retail the 8-inch Samsung tablet dubbed Galaxy Tab E, as well as the entry-level Galaxy On5 smartphone.
The two new entry-level LTE-enabled Android devices will increase T-Mobile's smartphone and tablet offering selections, giving consumers who are eyeing an affordable device another alternative.
Here is a look at what the Samsung Galaxy Tab E 8.0 and the Galaxy On5 smartphone pack in.
Samsung Galaxy Tab E 8.0
The Samsung Galaxy Tab E 8.0 will be available from T-Mobile's online and retail stores by Wednesday, June 22, a week before the Galaxy On5 smartphone. The tablet is already available from rival carriers Sprint, Verizon Wireless, U.S. Cellular and AT&T.
The budget tablet will cost $239.99 outright or customers can shell out $0 down payment, followed by 24 payments each month for $10.
The Samsung tablet's T-Mobile variant will also sport an 8-inch screen with a resolution of 1,280 x 800 pixels. The Galaxy Tab E 8.0 will house Samsung's quad-core Exynos 3475 processor, which is clocked at 1.3 GHz. It will also tout 1.5 GB of RAM and 16 GB of on-board storage memory, which can be expanded thanks to a microSD card slot's inclusion.
The device packs in a 5-megapixel rear-facing and 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The budget tablet is powered by a 5,000 mAh battery and comes pre-loaded with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
Samsung Galaxy On5
The Samsung Galaxy On5 smartphone will be available from T-Mobile's online and retail stores on Wednesday, June 29. The smartphone launched in China in 2015 and will go on sale from MetroPCS from June 27.
The entry-level smartphone will cost $139.99 outright or customers can shell out $0 down payment, followed by 24 payments each month of $5.83. MetroPCS will be selling it for $59, post a $70 instant rebate, which might make many people consider the retailer instead of T-Mobile.
The T-Mobile variant of the Galaxy On5 will sport a 5-inch screen 720p display. Under the hood, it houses the same quad-core Exynos 3475 processor as the Galaxy Tab E 8.0, which is clocked at 1.3 GHz, as well as 1.5 GB of RAM. The Samsung smartphone will offer support for 8 GB of on-board storage, which can be expanded thanks to a microSD card slot's inclusion.
The LTE-enabled handset packs in a 5-megapixel rear-facing and 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The Galaxy On5 is powered by a 2,600 mAh battery and comes pre-loaded with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
