Keyever Teases World's First Windows 10 Smartphone With Physical Keyboard, Launching Later This Year

Windows 10 Mobile should power another smartphone this year, and fans of Microsoft's mobile OS will get a physical keyboard with the upcoming device.

Keyever AO, a Chinese manufacturer, aims to roll out a handset carrying a hardware keyboard, a standard Candybar shape, average specs, and Windows 10 Mobile.

There is little disclosed information on what users will find under the hood of Keyever's upcoming smartphone, but we are ready to share what we know.

First off, processing power will come from a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor from the 600-series. The manufacturer boasts that a 3,000mAh power source will be packed in the device, making the handset able to handle full day action. The rear camera is still in the works, which explains why the renders appear to be pixelated in that area.

Not only is the battery rather large, but energy will be saved due to the shocking small screen. The Windows 10 carrying Keyever phone will holster a 3.5-inch AMOLED touchscreen able to display resolutions of 960 x 540p.

Seeing how the mobile industry strives to achieve increasingly larger display sizes, the company's choice is at least intriguing.

However, there is a strong motive for the smartphone to sport such a tiny display.

The company wants to equit the phone with a physical keyboard, practically introducing the first Windows 10 handset with such a feature. Not only is the keyboard physical, but it takes up a T9 classic layout, meaning that texting will require (quite a few) extra button presses.

One Twitter user says that Keyever is pondering whether or not to include a T9 or a QWERTY keyboard on the upcoming device. The phone may hit the scene later this year, sporting an affordable price of roughly $155.

We will keep you posted on additional details as soon as Keyever provides them.

A number of interesting handsets that run on Windows 10 Mobile are in tow or have been launched in 2016. The ferocious Elite X3 from HP got commended after its release in February and the Nuans Neo from Vaio is expected to come out this year.
