The publisher-owned studio WB Games Montreal is now hiring for not one, but two new video games set in the DC Comics universe.
The two projects were made official earlier today when the developer announced it was looking to fill programming, artists and design positions for both of the previously unannounced games.
As for what those games are, that's still a mystery. WB Games Montreal is the studio behind Batman: Arkham Origins, so it is no stranger to working in the DC Comics world. With the huge success of the Batman: Arkham games, it's no surprise that Warner Bros. Interactive would be interesting in making more video games set in the DC Comics universe.
It could certainly be that the team is working on a new Batman game. Batman: Arkham Asylum developer Rocksteady Studios has said time and time again that Batman: Arkham Knight would be its last Batman title, being the third installment in the trilogy. If that is indeed the case, it makes sense for Warner Bros. to task WB Games Montreal with developing more Batman.
However, the two games might not be Batman games at all. With so many films in the works for the DC cinematic universe, including a Justice League and Suicide Squad film, the chance to capitalize on box office success may be an opportunity too good for the gaming side of Warner Bros. to pass up. That means we could potentially see a Suicide Squad, Justice League or Superman game.
There are plenty of possibilities, but sadly it seems like we will have to wait to hear more. As the developer is looking to fill numerous positions, it sounds like the projects are in their early stages. As such, don't expect official announcements anytime soon.
