Verizon Launches Ellipsis 10 Tablet: Quad-Core Chip, LTE Support, Android 5.1 Lollipop

Verizon Wireless is looking to engage consumers with its new 10-inch tablet dubbed the Ellipsis 10, which is 4G LTE capable.

The Ellipsis 10 tablet from Verizon Wireless is the follow-up to the 7-inch Ellipsis tablet, which was introduced in 2013. The tablet is from the carrier's own brand and is targeted at those who are on the lookout for a powerful device.

"Whether you are a parent on the go, a gamer, a business power user or simply looking to upgrade to the latest tablet, the Ellipsis 10 has all the features you want in a tablet," boasts Verizon Wireless.

Sporting a 10.1-inch IPS TFT LCD screen, Verizon claims that the Ellipsis 10 has the biggest battery capacity available on any competing tablet of the same display size, which can be bought on the carrier's 4G LTE network.

The assertions are matched up by the tablet's mammoth 9,100 mAh battery that offers support for up to 25 hours of normal usage. Owing to the massive non-removable battery, the tablet is a tad heavy and weighs 19.75 ounces. By comparison, the iPad Air 2, with its smaller 7,340 mAh battery only weighs 0.96 pounds.

The Ellipsis 10 is a Verizon exclusive and has a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 pixels. The tablet also houses a quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz. The tablet also packs in a 5MP rear-facing camera and a 2MP secondary camera for selfie lovers.

The device has 16 GB of on-board storage, which can be expanded to a maximum of an additional 32 GB via a microSD card.

Another enticing feature on the Ellipsis 10 is the "angular firing stereo speakers," which enhance the sound quality of the device. However, consumers will be disappointed to learn that the tablet will come pre-loaded with Android 5.1 Lollipop and not the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

To purchase the new Ellipsis 10 tablet for $199.99 with a two-year contract or $299.99 upfront from Verizon Wireless head to the carrier's website.

Alternately, you can opt for the installment plan where there is zero down payment (for eligible consumers) and one needs to shell out $12.49 per month for two years.
