You don't need another app for biking in the Netherlands, as Apple Maps is now offering new cycling routes that will help users easily navigate its cities and other locations with their iPhones.

This latest update focuses on offering bike riders a chance to navigate the different cities in the country easily, with Apple expanding its cycling navigation on the Maps app.

It is widely known that the Netherlands is bicycle-friendly, and it prioritizes this type of mobility over strolling around in private cars.

Apple Maps has recently expanded its cycling routes over to The Netherlands, a country known for being a bike-centric nation that prioritizes cycling transportation in its streets.

According to iCulture, Apple expanded on these new cycling routes earlier today, adding more to what it offers, which was already present in other countries.

While navigation is a known feature for Apple Maps, cycling routes differ from those given for cars to drive and people to walk on, with these directions optimized for the two-wheeled mechanical vehicle.

Bicycles are an important part of Dutch culture, and this means that users in the Netherlands no longer have to rely on third-party apps, as Apple Maps brings the experience to them.

Navigate the Dutch Cities, Locations Easily with Apple

Dutch cities are now given special routes that will keep in mind the best ways for bicycles to go, centering on bike paths and roads that offer the safest and fastest way for cyclists to take advantage of.

Apple Maps also offers users a chance to download these routes so that they may go offline during their trip, adding to the 11 countries in which Apple Maps cycling routes are available.

Apple Maps and Its Developments

Apple first introduced cycling routes for its Apple Maps users in 2020, and it expanded the navigation to include various cities to help users enjoy the biking experience without needing other apps.

In 2022, Apple expanded the feature to include new cycling directions in seven US states, helping cyclists find the best possible route for their journey.

The good thing about Apple Maps is that it also added an offline navigation mode for users to help them in their journeys, including navigating for bikers who go on trips.

This would be particularly helpful as it would help save data consumption and reduce the load on the iPhone's battery whenever cycling, as users could turn off mobile data and follow the downloaded route.

Apple Maps offers an experience for iPhone users that has seen significant changes over the years. It is on par with other apps that provide the same experience, and users do not have to download them.

Now, Apple Maps is expanding its cycling routes to the Netherlands and offering a chance to easily navigate the country's locations straight from the iPhone.
